Feelings

We are people filled with millions of feelings passing by our mind everyday. As human beings we are highly sensitive, impulsive and we feel things instantaneously according to our situations in life. There is a battle going on in the heart of every human being since the creation between our feelings and the will of God. Our God has written the requirements of his Law as well as given us good conscience in our heart.

Romans 2:14-15
14 (Indeed, when Gentiles, who do not have the law, do by nature things required by the law, they are a law for themselves, even though they do not have the law,
15 since they show that the requirements of the law are written on their hearts, their consciences also bearing witness, and their thoughts now accusing, now even defending them.)

At the same time even the enemy wants to sow his seeds to capture our hearts.

Matthew 13:24-30
24 Jesus told them another parable: "The kingdom of heaven is like a man who sowed good seed in his field.
25 But while everyone was sleeping, his enemy came and sowed weeds among the wheat, and went away.
26 When the wheat sprouted and formed heads, then the weeds also appeared.
27 "The owner's servants came to him and said, 'Sir, didn't you sow good seed in your field? Where then did the weeds come from?'
28 "'An enemy did this,' he replied. "The servants asked him, 'Do you want us to go and pull them up?'
29 "'No,' he answered, 'because while you are pulling the weeds, you may root up the wheat with them.
30 Let both grow together until the harvest. At that time I will tell the harvesters: First collect the weeds and tie them in bundles to be burned; then gather the wheat and bring it into my barn.'"

He takes advantage of our deceitful heart (Jer 17:9) to speak to us in the form of feelings and empower us to do what he wants. The question is whose side are you going to take a stand:

Jeremiah 17:9
The heart is deceitful above all things and beyond cure. Who can understand it?

Feelings Vs Word of God?
Flesh Vs Spirit?
Facts Vs Faith?
Worldly Vs Heavenly?

We very well know that in our past life we listened to our feelings and our life was a big mess. Today we all are disciples because we have set our hearts to obedient in Christ. Even being a disciple we still are not exceptional in having our own feelings because our God did not make as preprogrammed robots but has given us the freedom to choose how we need to live.

1.Feelings Vs Word of God

1 Timothy 4:3-4
3 They forbid people to marry and order them to abstain from certain foods, which God created to be received with thanksgiving by those who believe and who know the truth.
4 For everything God created is good, and nothing is to be rejected if it is received with thanksgiving,

2.Flesh Vs Spirit

Galatians 5:16-26
16 So I say, live by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the sinful nature.
17 For the sinful nature desires what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the sinful nature. They are in conflict with each other, so that you do not do what you want.
18 But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under law.
19 The acts of the sinful nature are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery;
20 idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions
21 and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God.
22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,
23 gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.
24 Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the sinful nature with its passions and desires.
25 Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit.
26 Let us not become conceited, provoking and envying each other.

Mark 14:35-36,38
35 Going a little farther, he fell to the ground and prayed that if possible the hour might pass from him.
36 "Abba, Father," he said, "everything is possible for you. Take this cup from me. Yet not what I will, but what you will."

38 Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the body is weak."

3.Facts Vs Faith

Hebrews 11:1-3,6
1 Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see.
2 This is what the ancients were commended for.
3 By faith we understand that the universe was formed at God's command, so that what is seen was not made out of what was visible.

6 And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.

4.Wordly Vs Heavenly

Colossians 3:1-4
1 Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is seated at the right hand of God.
2 Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things.
3 For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God.
4 When Christ, who is your life, appears, then you also will appear with him in glory.
